Piano Instructor

Lauren began playing piano at age 5 and took lessons through high school, playing in Fall Festivals and performances hosted by the Kansas City Music Teachers Association. As an adult, she continued to play piano in her free time, on visits with her grandparents and during the holiday season, especially. When her daughters were old enough to play, she found UpBeat Music and Arts and enrolled them in lessons. She loves seeing them learn and grow through the program with amazing, supportive teachers.

With the onset of the pandemic, Lauren turned to music again, drawn to voice, piano, and performance techniques. She is excited to join the teaching team at UpBeat to help students develop the knowledge and skills to share music with others throughout their lifetime.

Lauren earned her BA in Mathematics at Grinnell College in Iowa and her Masters in Public Health at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio before moving to Chicago with her husband.
