About Student Performances
UpBeat’s students put on quite the show and we want to celebrate their efforts and progress by highlighting the creativity and courage that they display in learning their instrument and performing in front of our community. It’s one thing to learn a song by yourself - it’s something else entirely to go on stage and play in front of friends, family, and strangers. As the audience grows, so does the opportunity for students to build their skills. Performing, speaking in front of a crowd, and reacting to mistakes or other unexpected things are all valuable skills; moreover, it takes bravery to develop these skills and UpBeat is proud to have a role in helping students grow.
Get Down with UpBeat 2024
April 2024
For our 9th annual Get Down with UpBeat, we were at Joe’s Live in Rosemont with six talented student bands. Each of them truly rocked out, with bands playing songs such as Enter Sandman, Lovefool, and Ain’t No Mountain High Enough. Even though we’ve seen them perform before, it’s always amazing how natural they look on stage. Check out this recap of our students performing at the event - they know what they’re doing!

The UpBeat Rock Showcase at Schubas took place last Saturday and WOW! We are so impressed by our students who got on stage and did a fantastic job performing in their bands. Each of the ensemble, duet, and solo performances were tight and dynamic, and we already can’t wait for the next performance! We want to thank Schubas for hosting us, providing excellent sound, and showing exceptional generosity to UpBeat! Check out a clip from the event below!

Mayfest 2022
The students in our UpBeat ensembles did a fantastic job at their Mayfest shows! They kicked off the Saturday morning festival line up and played some classic songs such as “Don’t Stop Me Now,” “I Wanna Dance With Somebody,” and “Don’t Look Back in Anger.” Congratulations to our talented students!
