Through after school lessons and summer camps, students gain a strong foundation of music theory, technique, composition and performance from a values-based organization. Our curriculum, values, and teachers make the difference. UpBeat Teachers are not only talented musicians, but mentors who understand how to relate to youth and help them realize their full potential.
The benefits of music and the arts reach far beyond learning a new skill, which can help to build better people and communities. UpBeat Music and Arts, a not-for-profit 501(c)(3), is working to provide all youth the opportunity to be inspired through the arts, offering scholarships to ensure a quality music education for under-resourced students.
UpBeat helps students’ develop a lifelong love of music and arts through various offerings including piano, guitar, bass, voice, and drawing classes. Watch your student develop into a better artist, and a better person.
Group Piano, Ensembles Summer Camps, and Individual Lessons on piano, guitar, voice, bass, drums & ukulelele.
The music classes include theory, ear training, ensemble participation, and allow for gaining performance experience. Instruction is interactive and gives students a strong musical foundation. Each class culminates with individual performances and/or group concerts. The small group classes and break-out sessions are intended to keep the camp interesting and to build a team environment.
The summer classes are structured for students to learn mainly on the piano, with an optional electives in the afternoon, including guitar, bass, voice, and art offerings. All levels welcome.
Students participate in games and fun team building exercises during breaks, lunch, and to kick off the morning session. Weather permitting, the class walks to a local park to eat (bag) lunch and participate in sports, games, and recreational activities.
Registering early for camps is recommended, as some weeks fill up early.
